67 an hour 1 hour ago 1 hour ago 1 hour ago SIRCOMM is seeking full-time qualified individuals to provide emergency dispatch services for Jerome, Gooding, Lincoln, and Twin Falls Counties.
The incumbents will be responsible for answering both emergency (911) and non-emergency calls and dispatching police, fire, and emergency medical services personnel to various situations; maintaining and coordinating accurate communication among public safety personnel and the public; and other related duties.
No Experience Required.
We provide both classroom and on-the-job training.
Job Summary Coordinates and performs a variety of dispatch functions on behalf of the Southern Idaho Regional Communications Center; processes emergency and non-emergency calls; provides information and assistance to callers; maintains communications with callers and response personnel; prepares and maintains emergency communications records; operates and maintains various types of communications equipment; and other related duites.
Essential Functions Answers, processes, documents, and prioritizes emergency and non-emergency calls for service from citizens, responders, businesses, other agencies, etc; obtains, necessary information from callers; provides pre/post arrival information for CPR, choking, strokes, and other medical emergencies.
Dispatches appropriate police, fire, and/or EMS personnel; tracks the status of responders; maintains communications with field personnel; obtains and relays information including but not limited to incident locations, directions, patient health, and safety concerns for responders and citizens.
Operates the Idaho Law Enforcement Telcommunications System (ILETS); processes officer requests for information including drivers license, license plate, and crimainal history; enters missing persons, etc; researchers and confirms warrants and awants through the National Criminal Information Center (NCIC)/National Law Enforcment Telecommunications System (NLETS) Perpares and maintains a variety of emergency communications records and documentation Operates and assists in maintaining various types of communications equipment Ability to work rotating shifts/holidays/weekends is an essential function of the job.
This positions works under a Certified Training Officer and Shift Supervisor or Shift Lead.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Must pass a skills test including an acceptable working knowledge of computer operations, data entry with an emphasis on accuracy and speed; make and carry out decision; competently perform under stress when confronted with emergency and critical situations; perform a variety of tasks, often changing quickly from one tack to another without loss of efficiency and composure; work without constant direct supervision.
Must be able to obtain the Basic Communications Officer Certification through the Idaho Peach Officers Standards and Training Academy within 18 months of hire.
Must be able to become ILETS/NCIC, EMD and CPR Certified.
Must possess a valid Idaho Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and clear criminal history.
Must be able to pass a hearing, vision, and drug screening.
Core Competencies and Physical Demands Working conditions involve ability to sit for extended periods of time and work in closed quarters with infrequent break periods; occasional exposure to variable and/or extreme weather conditions.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
